Hot Racks Bakery Premiere

At long last the new neighbourhood bakery is open.

Friday I stopped in to see their products and buy something for supper. It was fine veggie bread and I look forward to trying a cinnamon bun or other sweet tooth satisfying pastry.

Time Lapse Coffee

I would say that the move was successful. I can see to statistics that people are still visiting the site so I know it is not lost to them and that access is available to the public.

I know I've not been posting any of the photos uploaded to 500px.com but the new uploads are visible, with links to them, in the right-hand bar below the collections section. Ultimately, I would like to find a way to provide a thumbnail of the images, but until I figure that out the text that leads to the image will have to do. And of course you can see the whole gallery by going to the link at the top right of the navigation bar.

As time permits I will try to post a few of the photos as they upload, even though most of them are old. It's really an inopportune time of year for this to all be done. January is an excellent time of year for digital housekeeping. Late summer and fall is not as I try to wrap up all the errands and tasks that are best done before the snow flies.

Earlier this week, while enjoying my first French press coffee with Jason at Museo, I set up the iPod for another time lapse.

It would have been better but for the very restless patron in the purple bunnyhug. I hope you enjoy it, anyway.

Saskatoon Skies and Waters

I've been intrigued with time lapse video lately so I thought I would give it a try. Some of the clips in the video below were made with still photos from the old Fujifilm S5100. They tend to be the shorter ones as I had to trigger the shutter manually. Yes, that means me, sitting next to the camera, arm extended, counting to three then pressing the shutter. Repeat 450 times, or until your arm falls off. :)

Thankfully the other clips were made with photos from either the iPod Touch or the D700, both of which have intervalometers built in. That makes it much easier to let the technology do that portion of the work while I enjoy the scene with a coffee and a friend.

The collections in 500px continue to grow. Soon enough all of the photos will be uploaded and ready for viewing. Thank you for checking in and for your patience while the details are refined.

Welcome to the New Home

Hello. Like the new digs? We're still getting settled in but we certainly feel comfortable with the place and neighbourhood, so far.

Yes, this is still Jay Scott Photography and I will keep the cheesiness to a minimum. But one cannot help feeling some excitement about a bit of a fresh start. Not from scratch, but with an opportunity to purge, streamline and reorganize.

As with any new site it will take time to learn where everything is located. Have a look around and let me know if anything needs fixing, relocating, or a better placement. For RSS feed readers, you can subscribe to this one and any of the four offered on the 500px page.

Until we are back with more news keep an eye on the 500px page as it grows.

Thanks for checking out the new space.
